Copyright
Unless otherwise stated, all videos, worksheets, graphics and other resources available through The Helpful Chemist website are copyright © Dr Richard Willis. All rights are reserved.
These resources have been created to support the teaching and learning of chemistry, and you are warmly encouraged to use them within the terms below.
Students and parents
You are welcome to download and use the worksheets and other learning resources for your own personal study.
The videos are not available for download and should always be viewed via YouTube, either directly or through the links provided on this website.
Teachers
Teachers are welcome to download, print and reproduce the worksheets and other resources for use with their own students.
You may:
- Print or distribute the worksheets to your classes.
- Include the YouTube links or embedded videos in lesson presentations and virtual learning environments.
- Use the resources in face-to-face teaching, homework and revision sessions.
You may not:
- Edit, adapt or modify the resources.
- Remove The Helpful Chemist branding or copyright notices.
- Rebrand the resources as your own or as those of another organisation.
- Sell the resources or charge separately for access to them.
- Upload the videos or downloadable resources to another website, video platform or file-sharing service.
Videos must always be accessed live through YouTube. The advertising revenue generated from YouTube helps fund the continued production of free educational content and resources.
Schools, colleges and academy trusts
Schools, colleges and academy trusts are welcome to use these resources throughout their organisation. You may build schemes of work, lesson sequences and revision programmes around The Helpful Chemist resources and share the worksheets with your staff and students.
You may also include YouTube links or embedded videos within your lesson presentations, virtual learning environments and other internal teaching platforms.
The same conditions apply:
- Resources may not be edited, adapted or rebranded.
- Copyright notices and branding must remain intact.
- Resources may not be sold or redistributed outside your organisation.
- Videos must always be viewed live through YouTube and may not be downloaded or hosted on your own servers without a separate licence.
Private tutors
Private tutors are welcome to use The Helpful Chemist resources with their students. You may use the worksheets and other teaching materials as part of the tutoring service for which you charge. Your fees are for your teaching and expertise, not for the resources themselves.
Students should continue to access all videos live through YouTube rather than through downloaded copies.
Alternative licensing
If you or your organisation would like to:
- host the videos on your own servers or learning platform;
- provide offline access to the videos;
- adapt or translate the resources;
- remove or replace The Helpful Chemist branding; or
- incorporate the materials into your own published resources,
please contact Dr Richard Willis to discuss a commercial licensing agreement. Every licence purchased helps support the continued creation of free, high-quality chemistry resources for students and teachers everywhere.
